Empowering children, youth & families
We offer a variety of services and support to the communities of the James and Hudson Bay area. With our main office in Moosonee, we support our staff working and living in the indigenous communities of Attawapiskat, Fort Albany, Kashechewan, Moosonee, Moose Factory, and Peawanuck (Weenusk).
How We Help
Clinical Programs & Services
Child & Youth Milopemahtesewin Services is known for providing mental health services to children and youth in the region. We work with children and youth from age 0 up to the age of 18. We have specialized services working with families who have children with special and complex needs. We provide services that also specifically support children and youth who are in alternative care. All of our services are confidential. We aim for integrity, consistency, and to have a service that is meaningful for our clients.

The Prevention House
Prevention Programs & Services
The Prevention Program under Child And Youth Milopemahtesewin Services (CYMS) has been developed for the purpose of strengthening family wellness and nurturing resilience in families. We acknowledge that many factors can impact the wellness and connectedness of any family (such as addictions, grief, trauma, abuse, poverty, difficult upbringing, relationship struggles, lack of support, etc.); however, we also know that with the right supports, families can achieve resilience and experience growth as a result of these factors.
Our team offers both community programming and one-to-one in-home support services. Our community programs include both Parenting Programs and Family Friendly Programs. Our one-to-one in-home support services are accessible to families by referral. One of our team members will work directly with the family to meet their goals on their tailored Family Wellness Plan.
