Family Crisis Support Program
The Family Crisis Support team provides support to families that have experienced a recent crisis. Workers do home-visits, provide short-term emotional support, connect families to appropriate community resources, share educational awareness on how various crises impact the family unit, and provide Crisis Funding for Families when necessary.

Families will be connected to an Infant Wellness Worker, Parent Wellness Worker or Family Crisis Support Worker based on their unique needs.
The Prevention House offers crisis funding to eligible individuals. The purpose of this funding is to provide financial assistance for low-income, high risk families to prevent increased involvement of Child Protection and/or to help resolve Child Protection involvement with families. Some examples of what this funding can be used for include: obtaining groceries, cleaning supplies, basic needs for parents and children including clothing, hygiene or safety items, beds or cribs, and essential appliances.
Clients can access Crisis Funding through a Family Crisis Support Worker (FCSW) or other support worker that has been involved with their family such as another Prevention Worker, Child Protection Worker, Band Representative, Family Support Worker, CYMS Clinical Worker, etc. All funding requests must flow through a worker.
Please see the Crisis Funding Referral form below to get started. For more information, please connect with one of our Family Crisis Support Workers and they’ll be happy to assist.
