Education Liaison Support Program


The education Liaison Support Program shall be part of the child/youth’s services plan/plan of care to meet the needs of the individual education plan (IEP) through a variety of educational programs, helping to identify, access, navigate and strengthen education supports and community resources relevant to the educational need of eligible children/youth. The program will also focus on the cultural and traditional components through positive supports, guidance and encouragement to assist the child/youth accomplishing their full potential in school.

We Provide

The Education Liaison Program supports Improving educational outcomes for child and youth in care, in customary care, and in a Voluntary Youth Services Agreement. Education Liaison coordinate educational supports and provide cultural responsive system navigation support for eligible children and youth. Education Liaison help to resolve issues that impact eligible children and youth’s learning, and strengthen relationships among societies, public school boards, First Nations school authorities, schools, and community partners in order to improve the educational outcomes of eligible children and youth.

Support Plan

Using a client-driven approach, the Education Liaison Support Worker will assist children and youth to identify and develop a plan based on their personal goals/needs.
